The idea for Simba came during a field visit to an informal settlement in Nairobi. Our founder was collecting research data and realized that, besides pen-and-paper, the tools available were wrong for the job: expensive, complicated, and built for offices rather than communities.
That's still the problem we're solving. Most data collection assumes stable internet, lots of staff, and participants comfortable with technology - but most of the world doesn't work that way.
Simba was built for the places and people that other tools don't serve. We use WhatsApp because people already use it. We use AI to handle data that otherwise can't be analyzed. We work with partners to build tools that are right for them.
