Pureflow is a U.S.-based social enterprise working in rural Uganda. Their mission is to help Boda Boda (motorcycle taxi) drivers build sustainable livelihoods through a rent-to-own motorcycle program. Drivers train with PureFlow, join their hub-and-spoke network, and - over about two years - transition from renters to owners of a vital income-generating asset.
Pureflow manages a growing network in cities and towns across Uganda. To keep this decentralized system healthy, Pureflow needed a way to regularly check in with hub leaders, understand staff sentiment, and assess leadership capacity across the network. Traditional methods of gathering feedback were difficult in low-tech environments and time-consuming to coordinate from their U.S. base.
Pureflow has adopted Simba’s WhatsApp-enabled platform to streamline communication and staff assessments. Using Simba, they run periodic surveys with hub and spoke leaders, capturing feedback on leadership performance, training needs, and operational health. Because the system works directly over WhatsApp, it fits seamlessly into the Ugandan context, requiring no extra infrastructure.
With Simba, PureFlow has an easy, reliable way to “take the pulse” of their network several times a year. The platform gives their U.S. team clear visibility into staff sentiment and hub performance, while also identifying areas for leadership development. What once required complex coordination is now a simple, recurring process - helping PureFlow stay connected to their field staff and keep their operations strong across Uganda and allowing them to scale and grow without compromising the quality of their program.
